Volkswagon Passat   Features

Volkswagon Passat offers two engines but both offering their own distinctive performance characteristics.The base model, the GLS, comes with the four-cylinder 1.8-liter power plant, which uses a double overhead camshaft and a turbocharger to give it V-6-like power.

Here's why:

  • Volkswagon Passat motors produces 170 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and 166 lbs. ft. of torque from 1,950 to 5,000 rpm, this little engine makes for a zippy ride.
  • The Volkswagon Passat 30-valve V-6 produces 190 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 206 lbs. ft. of torque at 3,200 rpm. Both engines come with a five-speed manual transmission or the optional five-speed automatic with Tiptronic.
  • Volkswagon Passat interiors provide a level of luxury usually found in higher-end automobiles. Painted surfaces have a special treatment making them soft to the touch, while brushed aluminum accents add to the package.
  • Volkswagon Passat offer a host of nifty features including air conditioning with rear vents, an alarm system, cruise control, one-touch up and down power windows, central power locking, power heated side mirrors and an eight-speaker stereo with cassette and CD.
  • Volkswagon Passat GLX model comes with leather upholstery as standard which include eight-way power front seats with heated feature.

Terms Defined
  • MSRP: “Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price”. This is the actual price that is typically attached to the car via a sticker on the window.
  • Invoice: This is an invoice provided by the manufacturer that is not actual Base Cost. Invoices have a hidden fee or "Holdback" that equals a percentage of the MSRP or Invoice price.
  • Shipping: The fee charged for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from the manufacturer. This charge is to be passed on to the buyer without any markup.
  • Hold Back: This is a non-published pricing promotion (discount) that is given back to the dealer at the conclusion of a sale of a vehicle.
  • Final Cost: This is derived by adding shipping to the invoice amount and subtracting any rebates and hold back.
